MIGUEL INDURAIN IN DER GIRO D’ITALIA HALL OF FAME INDUKTIERT
Der Spanier, der 1992 und 1993 nach epischen Herausforderungen den Corsa Rosa gewann, reiht sich neben Merckx, Gimondi, Roche, Moser, Baldini und Hinault in die Ehrenliste ein.

Mailand 5. April 2018 – Miguel Indurain, der vielen Radsportfans wie „Miguelon“ oder „The Navarro“ bekannt ist, ist ein Riese in der Geschichte des Radsports. Als extrem starker Zeitfahrer, der seine berühmtesten Siege in Etappen gegen die Zeit baute, wusste Indurain auch, wie er sich in den Bergen verteidigte. Er gewann 1992 und 1993 den Giro d’Italia und fünf aufeinanderfolgende Tours de France. Seine Palmares haben auch eine Einzelzeitfahren-Weltmeisterschaft 1995, die Olympische Goldmedaille für Einzelzeitfahren in Atlanta 1996 und den Stunden-Rekord 1994.

Der Corsa Rosa feiert ihn heute mit seiner Einweihung in die Hall of Fame des Giro d’Italia – in der atemberaubenden Kulisse des Teatro Gerolamo (Gerolamo Theater) in Mailand, nur einen Steinwurf vom Dom von Mailand entfernt.

THE GIRO D’ITALIA’S SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH MILAN

The first Giro d’Italia started from Milan in 1909. This year, for its 100th edition, and for the 76th time in its history, the Giro will conclude under the shadow of Milan’s Duomo Madonnina, with the final Individual Time Trial on 28 May. Milan is closely tied with the RCS Group, with its newspapers and its sport events.


Milan, 20 April 2017 – A marriage that has made the history of a city, the relationship between Milan and the RCS Group has developed over the years through the growth of large newspapers (such as Corriere della Sera and La Gazzetta dello Sport) and sport events, starting with the Giro d’Italia. This year’s Corsa Rosa, the 100th edition, organized by RCS Sport / La Gazzetta dello Sport, will draw to a close below Milan’s Madonnina, in Piazza Duomo, on the finish line of the last stage, a 29.3km Individual Time Trial which starts at the Monza Autodrome.

Bernard Hinault wurde in die Hall of Fame des Giro d’Italia aufgenommen

The French champion receives his entry into the Giro d’Italia Hall of Fame. With his three successes in 1980, 1982 and 1985, Hinault joins the roll of honor alongside Merckx, Gimondi, Roche, Moser and Baldini.

Milan, 28 March 2017 – He was one of the strongest riders of all time, one of only six men ever to have won all three Grand Tours in their career. Nicknamed le Blaireau (the Badger), Bernard Hinault won the Giro d’Italia in 1980, 1982 and 1985.
