Klaus Kobusch verstorben

Klaus Kobusch (* 15. März 1941 in Gadderbaum-Bethel, heute Bielefeld) ist ein ehemaliger deutscher Radrennfahrer. 1964 gewann er eine olympische Bronzemedaille im Tandemrennen und wurde dafür am 11. Dezember 1964 mit dem Silbernen Lorbeerblatt geehrt.

Folgend die sportlichen Erfolge von Klaus Kobusch.

Leben und Karriere
Kobusch begann 1955 mit dem Radsport. Für seinen ersten Sieg in der Anfänger-Klasse erhielt er ein Sportrad. Mit diesem meldete er sich in einem Verein an und begann mit dem Radsporttraining.

1963 gewann er im Omnium seinen ersten deutschen Meistertitel. Von 1964 bis 1969 startete der Bielefelder für den RV Radsportfreunde Bocholt, zuvor war er Mitglied im Verein Zugvogel Bielefeld.

1964 gewann er mit Willi Fuggerer den deutschen Meistertitel im Tandemfahren. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1964 in Tokio vertraten die beiden Deutschland im Rahmen der gesamtdeutschen Mannschaft. Beide hatten sich in den Olympiaausscheidungsrennen im Bahnradradsport gegen die Fahrer aus der DDR durchgesetzt. Im olympischen Halbfinale unterlagen sie den beiden Italienern Angelo Damiano und Sergio Bianchetto; die beiden Rennen um den dritten Platz gewannen die beiden Deutschen gegen das niederländische Tandem.

1966 gewann Kobusch drei deutsche Meistertitel: Mit dem Tandem, in der Mannschaftsverfolgung und im Sprint. Bei den Bahnweltmeisterschaften in Frankfurt erreichte Kobusch zusammen mit Martin Stenzel das Finale im Tandemrennen, hier unterlagen die beiden den Franzosen Pierre Trentin und Daniel Morelon.
1967 wiederholte Kobusch bei den deutschen Meisterschaften seinen Dreifacherfolg aus dem Vorjahr,

1968 siegte er noch einmal mit dem Tandem. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1968 in Mexiko-Stadt trafen Kobusch und Stenzel im Viertelfinale auf Trentin und Morelon, wie 1964 schieden sie gegen die späteren Olympiasieger aus.

1969 wechselte Kobusch zurück nach Bielefeld und war zuerst Trainer und später Vorsitzender beim RC Sprintax Bielefeld. Der gelernte Klischeeätzer war später als Versicherungskaufmann tätig.

7. Etappe: Nice – Auron – 109Km

The organizers of Paris-Nice have been closely monitoring the weather conditions in the Alpes-Maritimes department throughout the week. These conditions remain unfavorable for Saturday, particularly at higher altitudes. To ensure the riders‘ safety, the decision to modify the route of stage 7 has been made in agreement with the city of Nice, the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, and in consultation with the panel of commissaires from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), as well as representatives of the teams and riders (A.I.G.C.P, C.P.A).
The arrival set in Auron remains unchanged, but safety conditions are not met to cross the Col de la Colmiane and use the following downhill.

Thus, the riders will skip the Côte de Belvédère and the Col de La Colmiane and go straight after 55.8 km to continue through the Var Valley and then the Tinée Valley.
They will rejoin the originally planned route shortly before Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée for the final 32.5 km of this stage.
Stage 7 will be 109.3 kilometres long instead of 147.8 kilometres.

Storer roars in Auron

A short, explosive stage from Nice to Auron saw Michael Storer (Tudor) rise to victory at the summit. The Australian climber attacked early in the day and proved to be the strongest in a 15-man breakaway that also featured Julian Alaphilippe, who gave his all to lead his teammate toward the stage win and the 4th position in the general classification. In 2nd place in the overall standings, Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) gained 3 seconds on Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike), who retains the yellow and white jersey on the eve of the final stage around Nice. Thymen Arensman (Ineos Grenadiers) is now 3rd (+1’20’’) after Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) crashed out of the race. This is Storer’s 7th professional victory, the 5th on French roads and the 3rd in the UCI World Tour after he took two stages of La Vuelta 21 in similar fashion.

The peloton of the Race to the Sun faces the final weekend with two decisive stages that will crown the overall winner of the 83rd edition. First, Saturday’s course takes them to the Auron ski resort, atop a 7.3-km climb with an average gradient of 7.2%. 129 riders enjoy a sunny start from Nice as they head for the snowy mountains.

Big battle for the break
Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla) accelerates as soon as the flag drops. His move is followed by a flurry of attacks, and the first climb of the day, the cat-2 Côte d’Aspremont (summit at km 19.6), becomes the perfect launchpad for many more attackers.
After 17 kilometers, two groups merge to form the 15-man break of the day with Kelland O’Brien, Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla), Josh Tarling (Ineos), Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious), Bruno Armirail (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), Ivan Romeo (Movistar), Julian Alaphilippe, Michael Storer (Tudor), Johan Jacobs, Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), Neilson Powless, Georg Steinhauser (EF Education-EasyPost), Clément Izquierdo (Cofidis), Alexandre Delettre and Jordan Jegat (Total Energies).

Skjelmose goes down
Visma-Lease a Bike, Lidl-Trek and UAE Team Emirates-XRG take turns at the front of the peloton to control the gap. The situation changes after Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) crashes out of the race with 52 km to go. The Danish climber is taken to the hospital after hitting the ground on his right hip.

The gap goes up to 3’10’’ (km 68) before new faces up the ante in the bunch. Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious and XDS-Astana collaborate to bring the gap down to 1’45’’ at the bottom of the climb to Auron.

Storer rises
Michael Storer sets the pace at the front. Mauro Schmid is the last rider to keep up with the Australian climber, who eventually went solo inside the last 2.5km. Never looking back, Storer takes the stage win and also moves from 13th to 4th in the overall standings.

Behind him, Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) and Felix Gall (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) shake the GC group. The Austrian climber finishes 6th (+57’’), ahead of the French youngster (+1’04’’). Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) follows with a gap of 1’11’’, just 3 seconds ahead of the rest of the GC contenders.

Weitere Top-Platzierung von Alexander Konychev auf der ersten Etappe der Istrien Spring Trophy!

Die erste Etappe von Porec nach Funtana über 151 Kilometer bei strömenden Regen und sehr rutschigen Straßenverhältnissen forderte den Fahrern des Peletons alles ab.

Zu Beginn des Rennens konnte sich eine acht Mann-Spitzengruppe vom Feld lösen und wurden bis kurz vor dem Ziel nicht mehr gesehen.

Alexander Konychev auf Rang 15 des Tagesklassement!
Es siegt Erik Fetter (Team United Shipping) vor Samuele Privitera (Hagen Berman Jayco) und Dušan Rajović (Team Solution Tech – Vini Fantini).

Alexander Konychev, Emanuel Zangerle, Daniel Geismayr und Jannis Peter kommen mit wenigen Sekunden Rückstand ins Ziel.

Etappe Nummer zwei am Samstag soll dann den Klassikerfahrern, aber möglicherweise auch Jannis Peter und Emanuel Zangerle entgegenkommen. Es wartet das anspruchsvolle Finale nach Motovun nach 131 Kilometer. Ein erster Test über die aktuelle Form nach den ersten Rennkilometern.

Team Vorarlberg mit aktiver zweiter Etappe an Istrian Spring Trohphy UCI 2.2

Colin Stüssi war heute der Mann im Feld, welcher von Beginn an versuchte eine Gruppe zu initiieren. Nach 50 Kilometer der zweiten Etappe von Novigrad nach Motovun (131 Kilometer) funktioniert es dann. Stüssi kann sich mit einigen Konkurrenten absetzen. Die Gruppe wird aber vor Ziel wieder gestellt.
Im Finale wird der Deutsche Jannis Peter 25 mit 31 Sekunden Rückstand auf Sieger Adria Perica (SPA – UAE Emirate Z).

„Viel hat heute nicht gefehlt dass es für ganz vorne gereicht hat. Allerdings sind mir meine Beine im Finale aufgegangen. Dennoch haben wir heute die Taktik umgesetzt und wir war super aktiv im Rennen!“ so Jannis Peter
Die Abschlussetappe am Sonntag endet nach 118 Kilometer in Umag.

Istrian Spring Tour: Adrien Boichis holt ersten Sieg für Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies

Mit einer taktisch klugen Fahrt hat sich Adrien Boichis den Gesamtsieg bei der Istrian Spring Tour gesichert. Der junge Franzose holte damit auch den ersten Sieg in der Teamgeschichte der neu gegründeten Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies. Callum Thornley (Großbritannien) rundete als Gesamt-Dritter das hervorragende Mannschaftsergebnis ab. Die Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies gewannen zudem die Teamwertung.

Boichis lag vor der letzten Etappe der viertägigen Rundfahrt durch Nordkroatien noch auf Rang zwei der Gesamtwertung, konnte sich jedoch in einem Zwischensprint drei Bonussekunden sichern. Damit zog er am bis dato führenden Spanier Adrià Pericas (UAE Team Emirates Gen Z) noch vorbei. Für den 22-Jährigen war es der erste Sieg im Straßenradsport überhaupt. „Callum (Thornley) hat mir den Sprint angezogen und ich konnte die Vorlage perfekt nutzen. Danach haben wir das Rennen perfekt kontrolliert. Wir können mit unserem Auftritt wirklich zufrieden sein“, freute sich Boichis im Ziel.

Jener Callum Thornley zeichnete sich dabei nicht nur das Helfer, sondern auch als Ergebnislieferant aus: Am Ende der letzten Etappe sicherte sich der 21-Jährige im Schlusssprint Rang zwei im Tagesklassement.

Durch die damit einhergehende Zeitgutschrift machte auch er noch einen Sprung in der Gesamtwertung und wurde starker Dritter. „Das perfekte Finale einer guten Woche“, kommentierte er. „Einmal abgesehen von den Ergebnissen haben wir uns auch taktisch sehr stark präsentiert – das ist ein gutes Zeichen für die nächsten Rennen“, lautete Thornleys Fazit.

Als Sportlicher Leiter vor Ort fungierte der ehemalige Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Fahrer Cesare Benedetti. „Auch ohne Sieg wäre ich zufrieden gewesen, denn die Jungs haben perfekt zusammengearbeitet und sich wirklich stark präsentiert. Dass wir am Ende bei unserem ersten Etappenrennen überhaupt den Gesamtsieg einfahren konnten, macht mich sehr stolz. Gratulation an Adrien, aber auch an den Rest des Teams zu dieser tollen Leistung.“ Das nächste Rennen für die Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Rookies ist nun das italienische Etappenrennen Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali von 25. bis 29. März.

Knapp am Podium dran: Alexander Konychev sprintet auf Rang vier auf Finaletappe der Istrian Spring Trophy UCI 2.2

Auf der heutigen dritten und letzten Etappe über 125 Kilometer von Pazin nach Umag, hat es nur ganz knapp mit dem ersten Podium für das Team Vorarlberg nicht funktioniert.

Der Italiener Alexander Konychev, seit 2024 in Diensten der Vorarlberger, muss sich im Sprint des Feldes heute nur dem Serben Dusan Rajovic (Team Solution Tech – Vini Fantini), Callum Thornley (GBR) vom Red Bull – BORA hansgrohe Rookies, sowie Matteo Milan (ITA – Lidl Trek) geschlagen geben.

Heute haben wir als Mannschaft super zusammengespielt. Im Finale haben mich dann Daniel Geismayr und Emanuel Zangerle ideal in Position gebracht. Im Sprint war es dann knapp, aber ich bin positiv in Richtung nächster Rennen gestimmt.“ Alexander Konychev zum Rennen

Pedersen dominates the echelons

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) powered to victory in Berre-l’Étang, after an eventful stage 6 of Paris-Nice 2025 marked by echelons. The Danish star was the fastest in the 17-man group that emerged after Visma-Lease a Bike turned the race upside down in the last 65 kilometres. Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) made the first echelon alongside Matteo Jorgenson, but Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) was caught behind (+1’54’’). As for Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious), he lost almost 10 minutes. The road will rise again this week-end, first of all with the summit finish in Auron.

After an eventful stage 5 marked by Lenny Martinez’s first World Tour success and Jonas Vingegaard’s crash, the Danish climber withdrew from Paris-Nice 2025, leaving 138 riders to head out to Berre-l’Étang in a flat and windy stage.

There are three cat-3 climbs on the day, inspiring Thomas Gachignard (Total Energies) to attack as soon as the flag drops. Second in the KOM standings with 18 points – 2 less than Joao Almeida – the Frenchman is quickly joined by a countryman, Rémi Cavagna (Groupama-FDJ). Then, Jakub Otruba (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) bridges the gap to them at km 18, making it a 3-man breakaway.

Nervousness in the bunch
Tim Merlier’s Soudal Quick-Step drive the bunch. Pushed by a tailwind, the riders are flying, and the gap hits a maximum of 3’05’’ at km 60. However, the peloton is wary of potential echelons as the race heads east on some sections of the second half of the course.
Gachignard goes first atop the Côte de Pouzilhac (km 88.3) and then drops back to the bunch, trailing by 1’20’’ halfway through the 209.8-km stage.
After this first warning, the situation settles, and the gap increases again: 2’35’’, as Cavagna goes solo at the front with 87 km to go. The French powerhouse pushes his advantage back up to 3’ at the bottom of the Côte-des-Baux-de-Provence.

Major echelons
Visma-Lease a Bike accelerate on the following downhill and open major splits in the peloton. Matteo Jorgenson is at the front with his five teammates, and only three rivals manage to follow. After 9 kilometers of battle, eight more riders join to form a 17-man group: Jorgenson, Affini, Campenaerts, Hagenes, Lemmen, Zingle, Schachmann, Skjelmose, Pedersen, Lipowitz, Sobrero, Arensman, Foss, Jungels, Sheffield, Tarling, and Watson.
They work well together, catch up to Cavagna with 42 kilometers to go, and open significant gaps to their rivals en route to Berre-l’Étang, where Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) shows his power to take his third stage win in Paris-Nice. Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) loses 1’54’’ and Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) finishes 7 minutes further behind.
