Montalto di Castro, 10 March 2017 – The double World Champion Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) won stage 3 from Monterotondo Marittimo to Montalto di Castro (204km) in a bunch sprint finish, ahead of Elia Viviani (Team Sky) and Jurgen Roelandts (Lotto Soudal). Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing Team) is the new General Classification leader.

Lido di Camaiore, 8 March 2017 – BMC Racing Team won stage 1 of the 52nd Tirreno-Adriatico NamedSport, repeating last year’s victory with a record breaking speed of 58.329kph. First across the line, Damiano Caruso took the leader’s jersey, the Maglia Azzurra NamedSport. Among the General Classification favourites, BMC Racing Team’s Tejay van Garderen takes time advantage over Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) and Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), who finished third and fourth with their respective teams, limiting their losses.

Die 52. Auflage des Corsa dei Due Mari (Race of the Two Seas) beginnt am Mittwoch, 8. März, mit vielen namhaften Fahrern. Die Strecke von Lido di Camaiore nach San Benedetto del Tronto umfasst einen Team Time Trial und einen Individual Time Trial, zwei Sprintstadien und ein Bergfinish auf dem Terminillo. Angefügt sind die vorläufige Eintragsliste und das vorläufige Betriebsprogramm.

Mailand, 5. März 2017 – Die 52. Auflage des Tirreno-Adriatico NamedSport vom 8. bis 14. März, organisiert von RCS Sport / La Gazzetta dello Sport, zeichnet sich durch eine außergewöhnliche Besetzung aus. Das Rennen verbindet das Tyrrhenische Meer mit der Adria durch sieben Etappen: ein Team Time Trial und ein Einzelzeitfahren öffnen und schließen das Rennen; Dazwischen gibt es zwei Etappen für Sprinter, zwei für Finisseurs und ein aufsteigendes Ende des 1.675m Monte Terminillo (Campoforogna). Viele große Fahrer werden erwartet, um die Corsa dei Due Mari zu starten.

DIE GC CONTENDERS
Zu den GC-Anwärtern gehören Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), Gewinner des Corsa dei Due Mari im Jahr 2015; Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida), der Sieger des Giro d’Italia im Jahr 2016, der nach dem Sieg in 2012 und 2013 seinen dritten Sieg erringt. Der polnische Fahrer Michał Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) hat die 11. Auflage von Strade Bianche NamedSport gewonnen, zum ersten Mal Teil des UCI WorldTour, die 175 km von Siena (Fortezza Medicea) nach Siena (Piazza del Campo) . Mit dem Sieg auf der Ziellinie des historischen Platzes schlug Kwiatkowski das belgische Duo Greg Van Avermaet (BMC Racing Team) und Tim Wellens (Lotto Soudal), um seinen zweiten Strade Bianche NamedSport Karriere-Sieg zu sichern.

Siena, 4 March 2017 – Today Michał Kwiatkowski made it two as by winning the Strade Bianche NamedSport for the second time adding to his first victory in 2014, the year he became the first Pole to win the Elite world championship for road racing. He rode away solo with 15km to go from a group of top contenders including Ždenek Štybar and Greg Van Avermaet. The reigning World Champion, Peter Sagan, was forced to pull out due to illness after 114km of the race.

Siena, 3. März 2017 – Die Herrenausgabe des „Northern Classic in Südeuropa“, jetzt in der 11. Auflage, organisiert von RCS Sport / La Gazzetta dello Sport und zum ersten Mal Teil des UCI WorldTour-Kalenders, begann heute von Siena um 10.56 mit 167 Fahrern. Ein Fahrer, der nicht startete: Dossard Nummer 18, Vendrame.

In der Herren Strade Bianche NamedSport werden die Augen auf die Klassiker-Spezialisten wie UCI World Champion, Peter Sagan (Slowakei), den Olympiasieger Greg Van Avermaet (Belgien) und den tschechischen Fahrer Zdeněk Štybar (Sieger im Jahr 2015 und Vizemeister). Im Jahr 2016 hinter Cancellara) gerichtet sein.

Das Frauenrennen, Strade Bianche Frauen Elite NamedSport und das UCI Women’s WorldTour Eröffnungsrennen, begannen heute morgen um 9:23 mit 136 Fahrerinnen. Fahrerinnen die nicht starteten: Dossards Nummer 126 Thorsen und 195 Siggaard.

Abu Dhabi, 19 October 2016 – The press conference was opened by the Official Abu Dhabi Tour Ambassador, Mark Cavendish. In attendance alongside the Manxman were Giro d’Italia winner Vincenzo Nibali (Italy), seven time overall Grand Tour winner Alberto Contador (Spain), the duo of puncheurs John Degenkolb (Germany) and Michael Matthews (Australia), sprinter André Greipel (Germany), Rio 2016 gold medalists Elia Viviani (Omnium) from Italy and Belgium’s Greg Van Avermaet (Individual Road Race), Costa Rican rider Andrey Amador and local hero Yousif Mirza, the highest profile rider in the UAE.

The world’s most successful sprinter ever and 2011 UCI Road World Champion Mark Cavendish, 31, added four Tour de France stage victories this year to his account to make it 30 up to date, only four down on all-tine record holder Eddy Merckx. A points classification winner in all three Grand Tours, he also wore the yellow jersey for the first time this year and claimed his first ever Olympic medal with the silver in the omnium track race, before finishing second at the UCI Road World Championships – just a bike’s length away from reclaiming his title.
Cavendish said: „I’m proud to be the ambassador of the Abu Dhabi Tour, and event that has incredible sponsors and a great future, being elevated to one of the pinnacle races in cycling already for next year. The caliber of riders here is similar to the Tour de France.“

2) Vincenzo Nibali (ITA – Astana Pro Team)
Vincenzo Nibali, 31, nicknamed “The Shark”, was already one of the six riders who won all three Grand Tours (France, Italy, Spain) in the history of cycling before he won the Giro d’Italia once again this year, as well as the Tour of Oman.
Nibali said: „Abu Dhabi is a fantastic location with a great hotel to host us. This is only my third race after my accident at the Olympics, following the Tre Valli Varesine and the Tour of Almaty. I’m looking to regain good race condition.“

Abu Dhabi, 19 October 2016 – The official start list of the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Tour is revealed. It includes 18 teams, 11 of which are from the WorldTour, with a total number of 107 riders.
