TOURVERSION AMSTEL GOLD RACE VIRTUAL FOR THE FIRST TIME
Participate and test your skills in the ultimate final of the Amstel Gold Race on Sunday 19th April

Valkenburg, 14 April 2020 – This weekend, cycling fans and pros are able to ride the Tourversion of the Amstel Gold Race after all. How? From their own houses, garden or garage. The Amstel Gold Race will be organized virtually for the first time in history. Via the platform of BKool everyone can test their legs in the ultimate final of the Amstel Gold Race together with friend and pros.

‚We did everything possible to organize an Amstel Gold Race weekend in an alternative way. With the virtual Amstel Gold Race we challenge everyone to take on this challenge, both the touring cyclists and the pro riders. Fans can also enjoy the race as spectators. So it’s exactly what the Amstel Gold Race weekend is meant for. It will not be a race, but a joint tour. We opted for a course of 26 kilometers, this is not too long but the challenge is there for sure, because the vicious climbs from the finals of the Amstel Gold Race are all there. Meanwhile a number of pros already agreed to participate and the initiative is supported by ‚Oranje Peloton‘ of the Nederlandse Loterij‘, says Leo van Vliet, Race director of the Amstel Gold Race.

How to participate?
Participation is possible with an interactive hometrainer, such as Elite. Cycling fans can test their legs on the Kruisberg, Eyserbosweg, Fromberg, Keutenberg and the Cauberg as masterpiece in Valkenburg aan de Geul. There are three different starting times; 11h00, 12h00, 13h00. Because BKool offers the possibility for a 30 day free trial, everyone is able to participate without costs. or everyone who does not have an interactive trainer but still wants to follow the virtual race, there is the possibility to enjoy as a spectator via the Bkool platform.
