Alghero, 4 May 2017 – The 100th edition of the Giro d’Italia will be followed worldwide: 194 countries will watch the Corsa Rosa on 22 different TV networks, 19 of them live.
Record coverage for the international signal, with four and a half hours of live broadcast for each stage, plus three weekly magazines of 52 minutes each with race highlights.
In Italy RAI – Radio Televisione Italiana – the Giro’s historic host broadcaster, will cover the race with many various programs. The event can also be watched in Italy on Eurosport. The network will broadcast the event with commentary in 21 different languages throughout the whole Europe and in 16 Asian-Pacific countries. Some of the race phases will be covered with on-site commentary starting from 13.00 CET and after the race finish at around 17:15 CET. Eurosport will also produce the daily race highlights program “Giro Today”.
In France the Giro will be broadcast exclusively in L’Equipe, live everyday from the race starting at 13:05 CET with 45 minutes of highlights at 19:00 CET.
European coverage is completed with the Swiss Italian channel La2 everyday from 15:30 and RTL Luxembourg, daily live from 16:00 CET. Dutch race fans can watch 30 minutes of highlights of each stage at 19:30 CET on NPO3 from Monday to Friday and on NPO1 during the weekend.
The Corsa Rosa will be broadcast in North America on Fubo.TV, starting on USA and Canada from 11:05 GMT. Moving south, TDN will cover the race in Mexico and Central America while the Caribbeans will follow the race on ESPN Caribbean. ESPN network will broadcast all the Giro 100 stages in South America, in Portuguese in Brasil (starting from 09:30 BRT) and in Spanish in the remaining territories starting from 08:30 ART.
Colombian fans may choose where to watch the race on RCN (starting from 08:00 COT) or Señal Colombia (starting from 07:30 COT).
In North Africa and the Middle East the Corsa Rosa spectacle will be broadcast live by OSN, while in Subsaharian Africa debuts as official broadcaster Kwese Sports 1, live from 13:00 SAST for the first 13 stages and from 15:00 for the last eight. South Africa is the only exception with Supersport, exclusive broadcaster live daily from 13:05 SAST with daily highlights at 22:30, repeated for each stage five times.
In Asia the Giro 100 will be broadcast live by LETV in China and by DAZN in Japan, exclusively live from 20:05 on JST, while highlights will be broadcast in South Korea by KT Sky Life.
Live, repeats and highlight will be broadcast daily in New Zealand on Sky Sport, live starting from 23:05 NZST.
To complete the list, the images of the first grand tour of the season will be broadcast in all the world by Sport24, the sport channel available to airplanes and cruises passengers.
