WORLD-FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER OLIVIERO TOSCANI AT THE GIRO D’ITALIA
Toscani will be at five stages of the Corsa Rosa to work on a project around the “Giro faces”. He follows in the footsteps of his father, Fedele, who photographed Coppi and Bartali in the 1950s.
Milan, 30 April 2018 – “During the fifties, my dad was a photographer at the Giro d’Italia. He became friends with [Fausto] Coppi and [Gino] Bartali… I would have given everything to be with him at the race, but finally I’ve made it! I’m looking forward to meeting today’s Coppi and Bartali.”

The words of Oliviero Toscani, who will start working on his project from the Israel Big Start in Jerusalem. He will take pictures of the faces around the Giro d’Italian caravan, from the riders to the employees to the fans on the road. Faces, expressions and lineages that will change according to the places and the stages in which Toscani will be. After Jerusalem, Toscani will return to the Corsa Rosa at a further four stages: Assisi, Trento, Venaria Reale and Rome.
