Die Top-GC-Fahrer fordern sich bis zum Ende. Der Luxemburger gewinnt einen ausgewählten Sprint in Bergamo.
In Etappe 16 ist der Zugang zum Stelvio (beide Seiten) und Mortirolo-Aufstiege nur auf akkreditierte Rennfahrzeuge beschränkt.

Bergamo, 21. Mai 2017 – Bob Jungels nutzte die Straßen der Il Lombardia, um seinen ersten Sprint-Sieg in Bergamo zu erreichen und alle anderen GC-Anwärter zu schlagen, darunter auch der heutige Vizemeister Nairo Quintana, der früher gestürzt war, sich aber erholte und sein Defizit auf Tom Dumoulin um sechs Sekunden reduzierte, den Zeit Bonus auf den zweiten Fahrer über der Linie der legendären Papst Johannes XXIII Straße zu vergeben.

STATISTIKEN

Erster Grand Tour Sieg für Bob Jungels. Er ist der zweite Luxemburger, der im Giro d’Italia eine Etappe gewinnt. Sein Vorgänger Charly Gaul gewann zwischen 1956 und 1961 11 Etappen.
Mit Bob Jungels, der 24 Jahre alt ist, wurde mehr als die Hälfte der bisherigen Etappen im Giro 100 (8 von 15) von Fahrern gewonnen, die für die Unter-26-White-Trikot-Klassifikation geeignet sind.
Fahrer aus neun verschiedenen Nationen – die gleiche Anzahl wie das ganze letztjährige Rennen – haben im diesjährigen Giro: Österreich, Deutschland, Kolumbien, Slowenien, Schweiz, Australien, Spanien, Niederlande und Luxemburg Bühnen gewonnen.
Etappe 15 wurde in der Geschichte des Giro d’Italia mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von 46.486km / h als die 11. schnellste Etappe (ohne Zeitfahren) aufgenommen. Der Rekord ist die Etappe 18 im Jahr 2012 von San Vito di Cadore bis Vedelago (139km) von Andrea Guardini bei 49.429km / h gewonnen.

Der slowenische Fahrer schlug Zakarin und Thomas auf der Ziellinie

Etna, 9.Mai 2017- Der slowenische Fahrer Jan Polanc (UAE Team Emirates) gewann die 181 km lange Cefalù-Etna, die vierte Etappe des Giro d’Italia. Ilnur Zakarin (Team Katusha Alpecin) und Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) belegten den zweiten und dritten Platz.
Bob Jungels (Quick-Step Floors) ist der neue General Classification Führer, der das Maglia Rosa trägt.

THE RIDERS TO WATCH AT THE GIRO 100: MAGLIA ROSA DREAMING – PART 1


With little more than a week before the Giro d’Italia’s Big Start in Sardinia, let’s profile a first group of potential GC contenders for the final victory at the Giro 100 contested from 5 to 28 May

Milan, 27 April 2017 – In this unique and historic edition of the Giro d’Italia there are plenty of riders with GC ambitions, but only one of these men will be able to wear the final Maglia Rosa in Milan, lifting the Trofeo Senza Fine. Over the next three days we will share their profiles and hear their impressions before the start.
The first challenge for the GC contenders will arrive soon: stage 4, from Cefalù to Etna, which will end with a 20km climb featuring an average gradient of 6% that will start in Nicolosi and end at the Rifugio Sapienza, 1,892 metres above sea level on Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The next climb finish will be on stage 9, Montenero di Bisaccia to Blockhaus; its final13km will feature long sections of 9% inclines with peaks at 14%.
The first few stages of the Giro 100 will not decide the final winner but will give a clear indication on the form of all the contenders before the Sagrantino Stage ITT and the great mountains waiting for the Corsa Rosa.

Yas Marina Circuit, 26 February 2017 – Caleb Ewen avenged the embarrassment of his stage two defeat at Al Marina by cruising to victory on the Yas Marina circuit on the final day of the Abu Dhabi Tour – and this time delaying his celebration until after the finish-line. Ridden under floodlights and heavy rain for much of its 143 km, stage four saw Ewan definitively announce his arrival among the fastest sprinters in pro cycling and Rui Alberto Faria da Costa seal overall victory for the “home” team, UAE Abu Dhabi. Mark Cavendish (Team Dimension Data) successfully defended his lead in the Green Jersey competition (Points Classification) sponsored by Nation Towers, Patrick Konrad (Bora – Hansgrohe) grabbed the Black Jersey sponsored by Etihad Airways (Intermediate Sprint Jersey Classification) thanks to his audacious breakaway, Julian Alaphilippe (Quick-Step Floors) kept his White Jersey sponsored by Abu Dhabi Sports Channel (Best Young Rider) and UAE Abu Dhabi took the Team Classification.

Yas Marina Circuit, 26 February 2017 – The Portuguese rider Rui Alberto Faria da Costa (UAE Abu Dhabi) has won the 2017 Abu Dhabi Tour, the unique UCI WorldTour race in the Middle East. Second in the General Classification is Ilnur Zakarin (Team Katusha Alpecin) with Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb) in third place.

Final Stage 4 – the Yas Island Stage (143km) – has been won in a bunch sprint by the Australian rider Caleb Ewan (Orica – Scott).

Jebel Hafeet, 25. Februar 2017 – Der portugiesische Fahrer Rui Alberto Faria da Costa (UAE Abu Dhabi) gewann die Etappe 3 der Abu Dhabi Tour 2017, die 186 km lange Etappe des Rennens, von Al Ain bis hin zu Jebel Hafeet hielt er die Führung der allgemeinen Klassifikation. Auf dem Podium wurde er mit dem Roten Trikot des Rennführers belohnt, gesponsert von Al Maryah Island.

Etape qui s’est déroulée 100% en Suisse avec une première partie très favorable. Il a fallu 150 km pour qu’une échappée puisse prendre forme et creuser l’écart pour se mettre à l’abri d’un retour du peloton.
C’était prévisible et c’est ce qui est arrivé avant d’aborder les deux montées finales, le Col de la Forclaz et la montée vers Finhaut -Emosson.
Belle bataille à l’avant entre Majka, Pantano et le vainqueur du jour Ilnur Zakarin, jeune coureur Russe.
A l’arrière, comme toujours les Sky ont contrôlé à distance leurs adversaires en faisant un rythme soutenu et peu de coureurs, voire personne, n’a été capable d’attaquer.

Le maillot jaune :
Christopher Froome conserve son maillot jaune et prend même un peu d’avance sur tout le monde. Mollema a craqué. On est dans la dernière ligne droite avant Paris et les Alpes sont là mais les grimpeurs sont trop fatigués pour faire quelque chose. Ils nous ont promis des attaques dans la dernière semaine mais je crois qu’ils nous ont raconté des bobards !

Les autres maillots :

Maillot vert du meilleur sprinteur :
Peter Sagan a fait le break. Définitivement il ne peut plus être battu, il faut juste qu’il arrive à Paris.
Mark Cavendish a abandonné, il n’est pas parti ce matin donc il est maintenant mathématiquement hors de portée.

Maillot à pois du meilleur grimpeur :
Majka a fait l’essentiel aujourd’hui en se glissant dans l’échappée, en passant en tête dans l’avant dernier col et en faisant troisième de l’étape. Il a 84 points d’avance sur son poursuivant. Normalement il ne peut pas être battu lui non plus, il reste 111 points à distribuer.

Maillot blanc du meilleur jeune :
Adam Yates semble le plus solide dans ce classement.

Le meilleur combatif :
Jarlinson Pantano, encore présent dans l’échappée termine deuxième et il est le plus combatif du jour.
