Pauwels stays 13th and MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung remain 5th team
The 20th stage of the Tour de France would be the final battle for the GC riders with Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) taking the spoils on Alpe d’Huez. Nairo Quintana (Movistar) would be the rider in 2nd place while Ryder Hesjedal (Cannondale-Garmin) completed the podium.

In a short stage of just 111km, the battle for the yellow jersey would well and truly be on as there would be two major climbs on the menu today. While an initial break of 4 riders got away, it was inevitable that they would be caught as Nairo Quintana looked to mount a challenge for the yellow jersey.

Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling today announced its 2015 Tour de France Roster. The team features U.S. National Time Trial Champion, Andrew Talansky (10th overall in the 2013 Tour de France); Dan Martin (2014 Lombardia Champion and 2013 Tour de France Stage Winner) and Ryder Hesjedal (2012 Giro d’Italia Champion). The three powerhouses will work together as co-leaders of the argyle squad and will be supported by a strong team including Tour veterans Jack Bauer, Kristijan Koren, Sebastian Langeveld, road captain; and Ramunas Navardauskas, 2014 Tour de France Stage winner. Dylan Van Baarle and Nathan Hass will both be riding their inaugural Tour de France.

Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling kündigt heute den Kader an, der beim Giro d’Italia 2015 mitmachen wird. 2012 Meister und 2014 9. Platzierter, Ryder Hesjedal ist der Vielseitige im Team und verfügt über eine Mischung aus Jugend und Erfahrung. Dann noch Janier Acevado, Nathan Brown und Davide Formolo bei ihrem ersten Giro d’Italia mit Formolo bei seiner ersten Grand Tour. Tom Danielson hat in Pais Vasco und Volta Catalunya tolle Leistungen gebracht, wo er die Bergwertung gewann, während TJ Slagter ein starke Fahrt in den Ardennen zeigte, einschließlich 9. Slipstream Sports is poised for an exciting year. In late August, Slipstream and Cannondale announced that the organizations would join forces in 2015, creating a new, powerhouse team built for the future. The new team will be known as Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling – and as revealed today – features an impressive, young roster comprised of 27 athletes from 14 different countries. Cannondale will be the title sponsor and technical bicycle sponsor for the team, and has taken an ownership stake in the management organization of Slipstream Sports LLC. Garmin will remain co-title sponsor and has been a key partner of Slipstream Sports since 2008.

Garmin -Sharp: Mit Sturzpech auf der ersten Etappe des Giro

Andre Cardoso , Koldo Fernandez, Nathan Haas, und Team- Co-Leiter Dan Martin alle erlitten Verletzungen unterschiedlichen Grades. Dan Martin wurde sofort von der Stelle des Absturzes in ein örtliches Krankenhaus gebracht, wo die Ärzte ein gebrochenes Schlüsselbein bestätigten. Sie untersuchen noch ob weitere Verletzungen bestehen. Koldo Fernandez kämpfte bis ins Ziel, wurde aber auch in ein örtliches Krankenhaus gebracht, wo die Ärzte ebenfalls eine gebrochenes Schlüsselbein feststellten. Andre Cardoso und Nathan Haas erlitten Prellungen und Schürfwunden die weiter heute Abend von Team des medizinischen Personales ausgewertet werden.
